Letter to My Friend September 14, 2009
I look into your eyes and I see how tired, worn down, and at the end of your rope you are. I’ve listened to your life story, having lived part of it with you, and I struggle with how you got to this place as well. It pains me to see you so defeated and lost. I can’t image what I would crumble into if I was going through what you are right now. I know you feel like giving up. I’m asking you not to. Anyone who knows you believes you can get through this. Even the powers working against you know you are not to be taken lightly. I know you’ve lost a part of who you are. I want to remind you who you are.
I, like many of our friends, have always thought of you as fearless, resilient, and strong. You are the friend who stands behind me even when I’m dead wrong and you know it. You lead with an open heart and trust even those who do not deserve your trust. You are the freest spirit I know. You are not judgmental, but open and kind to everyone. You are a wonderful mother. I watched you, tired, worn down, in desperate need of sleep and peace, play all day with your son and my children. There is no doubt that you love him and want him in your life. I watched your son jump into your arms and say… I love you. He loves you…don’t forget that and he needs you in his life. You are a fighter. You would never let any of your friends give up if they were in a similar situation.
I know you feel like you don’t have much left to keep going. I know you feel like you’ve lost yourself. I stood beside you at church on Sunday and heard your voice as you sang in the crowd. Friend you haven’t lost your voice. It’s as beautiful as it ever was. It was all I could do to not cry right there because hearing you sing sounded like hope to me. There is hope. Keep praying…He will answer in his own time…not ours. Your friends and family are here for you. Don’t give up.
Dylan Goes to Dance Camp February 24, 2009
The BHS dance team just hosted their annual dance camp. Even though she’s really too young, they let Dylan participate and she loved it! Here’s a big thanks to the BHS dance team members! She hasn’t stopped talking about it. You know I took a video… are you crazy??? Here she is!
Happy Birthday Ava! February 15, 2009
It’s hard to believe, but Ava has turned 2! We had a little party this weekend with Bam and Aunt Nancy. The girls always love it when they come to visit. Here’s some photos from the big day!

My Opinion February 13, 2009
Recently someone pointed out to me that I never took a stance on a previous post about staying in contact with an ex. I explained that I was merely providing a forum for other people to express their opinions and that I certainly wouldn’t want to sway opinions by stating my own.
However, I don’t want to appear cowardly by not sharing my stance on the matter so here goes…
I can only speak for myself. Only I know and understand my past relationships and how they affected me and how that person makes me feel now. So to say that it’s okay or not okay to stay in contact with an ex is too blanket of a statement. I can honestly stay in contact with some people and it’s no big deal. Staying in contact with others isn’t that simple. I’m sure it’s that way with most people.
Everyone is different so when I hear someone say ‘I still talk to my ex and my wife/husband doesn’t like it, but it’s harmless,’- I guess it could be harmless. However I firmly believe that if the most important person in your life is your significant other, then if communicating with an ex bothers them, shouldn’t you stop? Does the ex mean more to you than your significant other and if so, something’s up.
So, do I stay in contact with some of my ex’s? A couple, but nothing ongoing. I don’t keep it a secret from my husband and if he had a problem with someone I’d stop communicating.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY AVA!! February 13, 2009

I’ll post photos after all the festivities are over.
Move Over Taylor Swift! February 12, 2009
Everytime this song comes on the radio Dylan says, “turn it up loud mommy!” This morning I caught her singing along…
The Beauty Around Us February 2, 2009
Here in the south we can’t really complain about winter. I mean usually we experience a couple of months of cold weather. Cold meaning, 30ish degrees on the low end. Recently though, we’ve experienced unusually cold temperatures. For the past week it’s been as low as 10 degrees. Now, that’s just totally unnecessary in the south. I had so many clothes on my kids they looked like little rolly pollies. Luckily we got a much needed break this weekend and we took full advantage of it because we hear that the temperature is about to drop again… We went for a little walk in the park today and enjoyed the beauty around us. Not that snow and ice aren’t beautiful in their own way…. I just happen to enjoy nature when it’s warmer outside.
Here are some photos of our little break from winter. Enjoy!

Facebook Overload! January 14, 2009
Okay, okay, okay… I’m on Facebook now, will you all leave me alone???!?!?! Heidi, aka wittywoman, said the magic words yesterday that got me to sign up for Facebook. No, I’m not telling you what they were. I know it’s a great way to connect with old friends, make business contacts, etc. But Man, I had no idea just how many contacts I would make within the first 5 minutes of signing on. It’s a bit overwhelming. There are so many ways to communicate… chat, private messages, wall to wall, etc. I thought I was going to get dizzy just trying to keep track of all the stuff popping up.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy there are so many people who want to be my friend or reconnect with me. I can see how it can be addictive. Thank goodness I can’t look at Facebook while I’m at work. They block the site from the kids while they are at school. Speaking of the students…. This is my disclaimer that I will not and can not accept any friend requests from students. So please don’t get your feelings hurt when I turn you down.
Anyway, I look forward to reconnecting with old friends and catching up. I have noticed that some people have posted old, “big hair” photos. Hmm, that’s been fun to see… So much for burning all that evidence. Anyway, it’s all in good fun.
If you’re not on Facebook yet, would I suggest it? I think it certainly serves a purpose and maybe I’ll warm up to it a little bit more after I figure it all out. Just make sure you’re ready for information overload if you sign up!
Bam’s House December 16, 2008
Recently, we took a trip to Kentucky to visit Bam. The girls always love to see the horses run around on the farm. Here’s a little video to share with you. No little girls were harmed in the making of this video… no pony tails were eaten…
